Meet Charlie
October 10th, 2011A “no nonsense” Reagan conservative
Charlie Schaupp has the experience leadership and courage to tell Washington’s politicians and lobbyists that “enough is enough!”
Charlie Schaupp is the only choice real conservatives have to send John Garamendi into retirement.
Homegrown and proud of it
Charlie knows our district because he’s from our district. The Schaupp family has farmed in our community
for more than 130 years. Through the decades, the family’s Schaupp Farms has produced rice, wheat, barley, almonds, corn sunflowers, alfalfa and other crops throughout Yolo, Sutter and Sacramento Counties.
Charlie holds degrees in agriculture from Yuba College and California State University, Chico. He has a lifetime of involvement in water issues and farming.
Charlie and his wife, Kay, live in the farming community of Esparto; their home is one built by Charlie’s great-grandfather in the 1880s and they’re members of the same church Charlie’s family has attended for generations.
Serving our community and our nation
Charlie served for 28 years in the US Marines, including combat operations in Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Back at home, Charlie has been involved with Boy Scouts of America and veterans group activities, including serving as a two-term commander of the Western Yolo VFW. He’s volunteered as a former chairperson of the Yolo County Republican Party as well as a former director of the Yolo County Taxpayers’ Association.
While a two-term member of the local school board, Charlie’s leadership saw new schools built in the district—with the cooperation and support of local farmers as well as the Yolo County Taxpayers’ Association.
