Charlie is looking forward to meeting with supporters and new friends in Sutter County. Sutter County is Schaupp Country – Charlie has been a family farmer since the 1800′s and is running to restore congress from the insane environmental regulations that threaten family farms.

Yuba and Sutter County are the heart of CD03 – agricultural areas that are always targeted by the extreme environmental policies of John Garamendi.

Tonight is a Candidate debate hosted by the Yuba/Sutter Tea Party – Charlie will be laying out his vision for Restoring Congress.

Over the past three decades he has served in a variety of elected and appointed offices, including deputy secretary of the Department of the Interior, California’s lieutenant governor and insurance commissioner, and a member of the state Senate and Assembly.

Schaupp is a fourth generation farmer, retired U.S. Marine lieutenant colonel who is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and the Iraq War, having taken part in 2004’s Battle of Fallujah, as well as the former chairman of the Yolo County Republican Party, a former Yolo County Taxpayers Association director, and previous Esparto School District trustee.

Schaupp is a retired U.S. Marine Lieutenant Colonel and a member of a family that has farmed in the district since the 1880s.

Charlie is the only candidate that is both a Farmer and a Military Officer. No one fits CA-03 better. Garamendi is a millionaire with a “ranch” in Walnut Grove and Kim Dolbow-Vann is not a farmer. (She married one)

Schaupp said it’s not about being a Republican or Democrat, it’s about being American.

“It’s not just about finding the right person to defeat Garamendi, the main mission is to stop the nonsense at Washington,” he said. “This is a job interview process. I’m applying for a job, the voters decide on hiring. Put me in Washington and hold me accountable when I’m there.”

“I am a Reagan Republican and believe in the principles of limited government and self reliance that made our nation great,” Schaupp said in an announcement early Thursday. “I am pro-life, pro 2nd Amendment and believe that local governments, not the huge fiscally irresponsible bureaucracies of the federal government, are best suited to solve our problems. 

“I believe that we should ‘Restore Congress’ which means we must restore ethics, honesty, fiscal responsibility, common sense, personal accountability, trust and restore the values and principles of our Constitution.”

The Farm Bureaus are often the only line of defense for the family farmer – Charlie is proud to come from a long line of farmers dating back to 1883 in Yolo County!

Charlie is looking forward to meeting friends and new friends at the Solano County Farm Bureau tonight!

At 10AM, Charlie and Kay will meet the volunteers of the Solano County GOP followed by a dinner at 6pm.

Charlie will also be attending a GOP dinner in his home county of Yolo as a sponsor as well. Recently, Charlie was a driving force behind the organization of a new Yolo County Republican Assembly Unit.

Charlie’s Marine Corps training makes him ideally suited to the mission of being your Congressman and the same sense of duty and tenacity is exactly what we need to restore congress!
